Quick answer

What does this tool do?

This free calculator turns the number of sites, the work at each site and your own work-rate estimate into a count of engineer visits, then lists the access and logistics points to settle first. It produces a scoping brief you can send to a provider. It does not guess prices.

Counted as: tasks per site

We do not guess this for you. If you leave it blank, the written scope will estimate it with you.

HOW IT WORKS

How to use it.

  1. Choose the work. Pick the service, such as remote hands, IMAC, cabling or a WiFi survey.
  2. Enter sites and work per site. Add the number of sites and how much work is at each one.
  3. Add your work-rate estimate. If you know how much one engineer can do per visit, enter it. If not, leave it blank.
  4. Tick the access and logistics items. Mark escorts, registration, deliveries, border crossings and data exposure.
  5. Copy the brief. Copy the summary and send it to us or any provider you are comparing.

BE HONEST

What it does not do.

  • It counts visits from the numbers you enter. It does not know how long your specific job takes.
  • It does not give a price. Prices depend on the written scope, locations and timing.
  • Your work-rate estimate drives the visit count. If it is wrong, the count is wrong.

QUESTIONS

Common questions.

How are engineer visits calculated?
The calculator divides the work at each site by how much one engineer can do per visit, rounds up, and multiplies by the number of sites. It only does this when you provide your own work-rate estimate.
Does the calculator give a price?
No. A price depends on a written scope that covers locations, timing, access and parts. The calculator gives you a clear brief so the quote you receive is based on real numbers.
What if I do not know how much one engineer can do?
Leave the field blank. The summary will show the visit count as to confirm, and the written scope will estimate the work rate with you.
What should I do with the brief?
Copy it and paste it into the contact form, or send it to any provider you are comparing. The same brief lets you compare their answers fairly.
