Overview

What is WiFi Surveys (Ekahau)?

WiFi survey services use specialized tools (primarily Ekahau AI Pro and Ekahau Sidekick) to measure, model, and optimize wireless network performance. Surveys produce detailed heatmaps of signal strength, noise, interference, channel utilization, and throughput. Results inform access point placement, channel planning, and power-level configuration to deliver reliable, high-performance wireless connectivity.

PROCESS

Five-phase engagement.

  1. 1

    Requirements Gathering

Understand your wireless use cases, device types, density targets, and application requirements (voice, video, data).

  2. 2

    Floor Plan Preparation

Obtain or create scaled floor plans, annotate wall materials and construction types, and calibrate the Ekahau model.

  3. 3

    Survey Execution

Conduct the predictive, AP-on-a-stick, or validation survey across all areas, collecting data at representative measurement points.

  4. 4

    Analysis & Design

Analyze survey data, optimize AP placement and radio settings, and generate heatmaps and coverage recommendations.

  5. 5

    Report Delivery

Present findings in a detailed report with actionable recommendations, a bill of materials, and the Ekahau project file.

COMPARE

Which WiFi survey fits?

Pick two or three options to compare. Many projects use more than one.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions.

What is Ekahau?
Ekahau is the industry-leading Wi-Fi design and site survey platform. Ekahau AI Pro software combined with the Ekahau Sidekick spectrum analyzer provides the most accurate wireless planning and measurement capabilities available.
How long does a WiFi survey take?
A typical single-floor office survey takes one day on-site. Multi-floor or multi-building surveys are scheduled based on total area, with most completed within two to five days.
Do I need a survey before deploying access points?
A predictive survey is strongly recommended before any deployment. It prevents costly mistakes like too many or too few APs, poor placement, and co-channel interference.
Can you survey outdoor areas?
Yes. We perform outdoor wireless surveys for campus environments, car parks, loading docks, and event venues.
Do your engineers hold wireless certifications?
Certifications such as Ekahau Certified Survey Engineer (ECSE), Certified Wireless Network Professional (CWNP) and vendor certifications from Cisco, Aruba and Ruckus can be specified in the scope, and we confirm availability before quoting.
