Overview
What is Laptop & Desktop Repair?
Laptop and desktop repair services cover the diagnosis and resolution of hardware faults in end-user computing devices. Common repairs include screen replacement, keyboard swap, battery replacement, motherboard repair, hard drive and SSD replacement, fan and thermal paste renewal, and power jack repair. We support all major brands on-site or at our depot facilities.
WHY IT MATTERS
Why Laptop & Desktop Repair matters.
A failed laptop rarely fails at a convenient moment, and the real cost is usually the person waiting, not the part. Without a repair route that fits your business, staff borrow a colleague's machine, ship a device to the manufacturer and wait, or buy a replacement that then needs imaging and enrollment from scratch. Small faults such as a swollen battery or a loose hinge get ignored until they cost someone a day of work. A defined repair service gives employees one place to report a fault and gives IT one record of what broke, what was replaced and how long the user went without a device.
Good looks like a technician arriving with the right part already identified from a remote description of the fault, working at the desk without disturbing the office, and handing back a machine that has been tested while the user watches. Units that cannot be fixed on site move to a repair bench through a tracked handoff, with a loaner covering the gap when your process allows it. Afterward you receive notes on the cause, the part fitted and whether the unit is worth repairing again, so your team can choose between further repair and replacement with facts in hand.

CHOOSING
Choosing this service.
What to decide before you order, and what sits outside the scope.
Repair, reimage, or replace
A complaint about a laptop may point to software instead of hardware. A slow or unstable machine may need a clean software build instead of a part. Describe the symptoms when you order and we will say whether the evidence points to hardware, or whether desktop support is the better fit.
Settle warranty status first
Opening a device that is still covered by the manufacturer or an accident plan can complicate a claim. Tell us the cover status up front. Where a claim is the better route, we can help raise it instead of repairing the unit ourselves.
On-site visit or bench repair
A screen, keyboard or battery swap is usually quick enough to do at the desk. A board fault or liquid damage fits a bench better. Remote sites with few devices often justify a bench handoff, while a large office favors a scheduled visit.
What to prepare beforehand
Back up user files where you can and confirm that disk encryption recovery keys are available to your IT contact. Share an asset list with model and serial details so parts can be matched in advance, and name someone who can approve a repair once the fault is confirmed.
Not included
- Operating system rebuilds, profile migration and application installs are separate work, usually handled under desktop support.
- Recovery of files from physically damaged storage needs a specialist lab and its own quote.
- Our repairs do not replace manufacturer warranty, and we do not sell insurance or extended cover.
- Personal devices owned by staff fall outside the service unless the arrangement is agreed in writing.
USE CASES
Typical scenarios.
A consulting firm needing same-day screen replacement for a partner's laptop before a client presentation.
A school district with 500 student Chromebooks requiring summer-break keyboard and battery replacements.
An engineering company sending 20 high-spec workstations for depot motherboard repair after a power surge event.
PROCESS
How the work runs.
- 1
Fault intake and triage
The user or your service desk describes the symptoms. We narrow down the likely cause remotely, confirm warranty status and decide between a desk visit and a bench handoff before anyone travels.
- 2
Part and tool preparation
The engineer matches the model against the likely failed component and prepares the part, anti-static tools and a test image or boot media, so the visit does not stall on a missing item.
- 3
Repair and handling
The fault is repaired with the device powered down and disconnected. Removed parts are labeled and kept aside for return, disposal or warranty evidence, according to your instruction.
- 4
Test and handback
The engineer runs a hardware check, confirms the original fault is gone, and hands the device back with the user present. A short service note records the cause and the part fitted.
